K2i
New Technology in a proven Design
The new K2i is a completely redesigned machine. The saw looks and the basic idea are the same.

New PW System - modifications to the control systems including, among others, changes to the hydraulic control systems and additional updates a max. 30% increase in output can be achieved when compared to the K2.
Now fewer tools or customizations for the same money as before.
Some parts may still need to be rotated, but now, with the otherwise faster processing of the i-Version, this time will be compensated for.
As a result the K2i has a higher processing speed.
- Positioning system: PW
- new electromotor positioning of the PW clamps
- Different clamping pressures are possible for the PW (large / small timbers)
- Cycle time for opening and closing the PW - next to zero
- PW does not need to completely open before it repositions
- The PW can begin positioning immediately after contacting the part
- More precise supervision of the part dimension - higher operational reliability
- There is no more manual re-hanging of the PW's with the 635 and 900 versions
- It is no longer necessary to reference the PW's - there is an absolute encoder in the PW drive motor (it is not necessary to manually reference the PW's when the machine is turned on)
- By eliminating the pneumatic cylinders in the PW there are reduced air requirements (Volume / Pressure)
- Less air volume is required (xxx cfm)
- Less pneumatic pressure is required p = X psi!?
- 2. New Hydraulic system
- Every axis is controlled independently
- Controllers with proportional valves resulting in improved performance and precision
- Every valve is optimally controlled
- All hydraulic axes can be positioned at the same time.
- Pre-positioning of the next tool during an operation, this means that the next operation can be performed immediately after the part has been positioned. New control structure, better diagnosis and easier to use (switching components/controllers)
- 3. Controls
- Latest control technology -
- Absolute encoders with SSI- and EnDat-interface, reliable and no referencing
- EtherCAT (Connection in circuit cabinet from computer to Hydraulic controllers, Servo inverters and drives, reading of absolute encoders) = necessary for better more precise controls
- Ethernet, increased data transfer rates and speeds from the operator console to the circuit cabinet
- More diagnosing capabilities (logging of machine status)
- More possibilities for remote service
- 4. Safety technology is more manipulation-proof and state-of-the-art
- 5. Strengthened machine frame and implemented components
- Precision table rollers throughout the complete machine zone are more robust, and spin true; new fastening technology (fastened more securely with M10 bolts)
- Greater part precision - from lower frictional forces
- 6. Drill units with Hydro-pneumatic - vertical support
- Adjustable feed rate = damping on all drill units (incl. 2.2 kW) possible
- minimizes tear-out
- there is no longer a brake cylinder on 3.0 kW drill unit
- 7. New printing technology - Ink-Jet 4
- Ink jet labeling possibilities similar to SC
- Can be retrofitted = reference to planned EU ordinance regarding part labeling
- 8. Modular construction for vertical combi-support
- Every tool (drill unit and vertical endmill) can be installed or retrofitted in every location.
- 9. Hydraulic rotator
- Rotations are possible in both directions = time saving
- 10. The saw now designed with a larger 11 kW (14.7 hp) motor and cut height of 300 mm
- Saw cuts even near max. dimensions are possible with no rotations
- Increased capacity for separating cuts, jack rafter cuts - ripping and valley cuts.
