Contest Winner iLevel® Triumphs with the SC-1 February 2007
iLevel® by Weyerhaeuser knows how to make the most of the speed and accuracy of the Hundegger SC-1 saw. iLevel’s Stockton service center used the SC-1 to crank out 114,105 lineal feet and 7,039 parts in just one month, making them the winners of Hundegger’s September, 2007 production contest.
And September’s numbers are nothing unusual—according to Site Sales Operations Manager Lester Sabo. “We’ve been very successful with the SC-1 ever since it was installed in 2005,” Sabo said. “It not only benefits our customers, it benefits our own operation on a day-to-day basis.”
Used in conjunction with iLevel design software like Javelin® and production software like Stellar™—and backed up by both Hundegger and iLevel® technical support—the SC-1’s versatility opens up new opportunities to get creative. For example, iLevel® delivers their NextPhase® JobPack™ floor framing packages that incorporate proprietary iLevel® services such as “zone bundling”, and come with all parts precision cut to length and labeled for easy assembly, complete with extras like pre-cut holes for HVAC and electrical conduits. That means no more cutting or sorting on the site which translates to less waste and faster cycle times. Sabo’s team also uses a small-batch process to speed up orders by tracking sales history and pre-cutting the sizes in highest demand.
But the SC-1 doesn’t only boost speed, accuracy and efficiency. It can also improve safety by virtually eliminating chainsaws from the equation. And, as Sabo explains, “Safety is the number 1 priority for every iLevel associate.”
As the Grand Prize winners, two lucky associates will enjoy an all-expense-paid trip to Hundegger headquarters in Hawagen, Germany. The rest of the team can hardly wait to claim their Hundegger T-shirts.
