Pick & Feed and Pick & Place
Fully automatic transport system for feeding and placement in Hundegger joinery machines and automatic cutting machines.

Pick & Feed:
Automatic feed of timbers to the feed cross conveyor, and automatic filling of the timber store.
|
Speed-Cut:
The most efficient machine for cutting wall and truss components.
Cutting - Drilling - Milling - Slotting - Marking
|
Pick & Place:
Removal of finished components and automatic nesting with placement optimization.
|
Automation example with Speed-Cut SC1:
Pick & Feed System with timber store of up to 12 books of timber.
Pick & Place System with up to 6 books of finished parts.
Pick & Feed

The fully automatic Pick & Feed system is used for destacking pre-positioned books of timber containing
structural timber, glue laminated timber, glue timber / finger jointed beams and squares as well as joists,
transporting them to the feed cross conveyor of a Hundegger joinery or cutting machine, and filling the
ground storage system.
To fill the ground storage system, a book of timbers is deposited in the storage area and aligned against a
fence by operating staff using a crane or fork lift.
The layer gripper of the Pick & Feed machine is automatically positioned over the book of timbers and
transports it in individual layers to a free location in the ground storage system. The dimensions of the
timbers, the timber books and their position are stored by the joinery or cutting machine's processor and
graphically displayed on screen. The single strip design program accesses the required cross-sections and
lengths for a building project from the ground storage system and these are transported fully automatically by the layer gripper to the to the feed cross conveyor. Timbers in a layer which are not required are returned to the store.
Pick & Place

The Pick & Place system is used for automatic removal of finish joined components from a Hundegger joinery or cutting machine and their automatic nesting using a placement optimization system.
The joined components are engaged by a pneumatically actuated gripper at the placement location of a
Hundegger joinery or cutting machine and fully automatically stacked in a warehouse into sorted books of
timbers. Stacking takes place in layers or books with the same cross section onto one of 12 placement
trolleys. These are positioned at firmly defined points within the gantry and are managed by a program in the joinery or cutting machine's processor.
Pick & Feed and Pick & Place
In March 2005, the first fully automatic "Pick & Feed and Pick & Place" transport system was put into operation for the loading and unloading of Hundegger assembly machines and cutting machines.
