Solid-Wood-Wall Production Line
Hans Hundegger Maschinenbau GmbH has put the first automated production installation for the manufacture of the completely new Solid-Wood-Wall System (MHM) on the market.
The Solid-Wood-Wall was designed by MHM Entwicklungs GmbH. The production installation consists of a groove and rebate milling cutter (NF), a ”Wallmaster” (WM) and a panel cutting machine (PBA). |
| With the groove and rebate milling cutter, dried 24 mm boards (slab timber) are profiled and grooved in any width between 14 cm and 26 cm, unsorted, as well as being given a rabbet joint on both sides. |

| The boards are subsequently pressed cross-layered on the Wallmaster under computer control to make rough wall elements in sizes from 2 m x 2 m up to 3.25 m x 6 m and a thickness of 7 cm to 36 cm, and nailed together layer by layer using threaded aluminium nails specially developed for the purpose. |

The rough wall elements are then cut to the required size and shape by the CNC panel cutting machine, including the door and window apertures.
Slots and recesses for heating, sanitary and electrical equipment etc. can also be milled. |

A complete M-H-M production line has a space requirement of approximately 40m x10m and can produce about 18,000 m² of wall elements per year in single-shift working. The high degree of automation allows the complete installation to be operated by a single machine minder.
With this manufacturing process, since nearly the whole net product stays in the business, the production unit becomes profitable from about 12 houses/year. |
